Transparency and high data quality are the prerequisites for intelligent and efficient management of supply chains. For this purpose, the 4PL transport logistics specialist G-SCS (Global Supply Chain Solutions, www.g-scs.de) has developed a new solution, which will be presented at this year's Transport Logistic (from 4th to 7th of June in Munich). The so-called Visibility and Reporting Center of G-SCS provides a global data transparency of all relevant logistics indicators including detailed information on the agents used. This can save up to nine percent of their transportation cost and correspondingly increase their competitiveness in companies.
"Every year, more than 400,000 shipments are tested on the G-SCS control tower of over 300 European wide transport companies. In addition to the auditing of the invoices, G-SCS´ clients receive, through the intelligent processing of data, an unprecedented level of data quality and transparency“, explains Steffen Rabus, Managing Director of G-SCS. Increased data transparency, accompanied (in compliance with ISO and Sarbanes Oxley) with automated testing of freight invoices, is part of the extensive new services and software portfolio that G-SCS as a 4PL provider (Fourth Party Logistics) has been offering since early 2013. The foundation for this is the so-called Integrated Control Tower, which coordinates all software applications.
The Federal Office for Freight Transport (BAG) confirmed in its current market observation, the positive mood in the German logistics industry, coupled with rising freight costs. As a result, according to Rabus, many companies want to reduce their logistics costs significantly and sustainably. "Industries such as automotive, chemical, pharmaceutical, but also other areas of the manufacturing and process industries have a high demand for transportation logistics services. Whilst these industries are particularly affected by rising freight costs, there is accordingly, a great potential for savings." Essential for this is, according to G-SCS` CEO is a greater standardization, harmonization and automation of logistic processes.
The extended 4PL portfolio of G-SCS comprises traditional Freight Bill Audit and Supply Chain Visibility services along with transportation management, contract management, packing and container management, and supply chain analysis and design. "Through the use of custom made, modular G-SCS-solutions, customers can design their supply chain processes, to be more stable, efficient and flexible," explains Rabus. This is appreciated by the customers of G-SCS, which is composed of large international corporations.
